The importance of jetty pile wrapping to protect works in the industry

Jetty pile wrapping tape helps protect metal parts more durable with just one step of the application. This protection method has many great advantages with high applicability and flexibility. In the works, this solution is popular nowadays because of its convenience and reasonable price as well as easy-to-do method.

Jetty pile wrapping is the specialized protection for metals

Corrosion resistance is a necessary measure to protect metal surfaces in highly corrosive environments. There are many methods of metal protection, and jetty pile protection is quite popular because of its outstanding advantages.

Jetty pile wrapping is a tape designed with special properties to protect the details of oil and gas pipelines, fire fighting pipes, underground water pipes, gas pipes, pipes outside the rig, underground pipes,... against metal coating corrosion.

This tape is integrated on the tape roll consisting of 2 layers, HDPE (High Density Poli Etilen) and Bitumen Rubber layer. These components have high toughness, good water resistance, and chemical resistance to metal pipes.

The advantage of this jetty pile protection method is very good adhesion even on rusty surfaces, humid and cold environments, and can withstand heat from -30 degrees Celsius to more than 75 degrees Celsius. Using the bandage is relatively easy. Easy to apply by hand, achieving quick and convenient results. Therefore, this is an important solution used in most metal pipes today.

Introducing the process of jetty pile wrapping for metal protection

1. Clean the metal surface for jetty pile wrapping more efficiency

Before applying jetty pile protection tape, you have to remove dirt, oil, welding slag, burrs on the pipe surface. Keep the outside surface of the tube clean and dry to make it more efficient

2. Apply liquid glue primer before the jetty pile wrapping step for the metal

During the painting process, the paint must be shaken thoroughly and continuously to avoid deposition and caking. This step can be done by spraying (pressure sprayer) or hand sweeping (brush, roller) over the entire outer surface of the tube.

The primer must be uniform and free from running, slacking, dripping, or unsealing. Primer coated pipe surface should not contain any foreign matter, such as sand, grease, oil grit, rust particles or dirt. Then you can proceed to wrap the jetty pile protection tape after 5-10 minutes of the primer drying.

3. Applying jetty pile wrapping tape to complete the process

The jetty pile wrapping tape is applied directly to the surface of the prepared pipe, the tape can be applied manually or by machine.

The tape must be wound by the spiral method, the degree of overlap must be according to the standard, at least 25mm.

At the beginning of the unfinished part of the tape, the seam must be wound by a minimum of 150mm along the circumference of the pipe.

Note: In some cases, avoid using the jetty pile wrapping tape on the metal for protection.

- When the weather is windy, sand and dust cover the pipe surface, it is not recommended to prime and wrap the duct tape without taking precautions.

- When the air humidity is more than 80%, or when the pipe surface is wet, do not prime and tape.

- Ambient temperature must be above 5 degrees Celsius.

The jetty pile wrapping tape has a solid connection component in the structure, so it has good moisture resistance, waterproofing, and high temperature resistance. Therefore, this material is used in most large and small projects, both civil and business projects. Because of its reasonable price as well as easy-to-do method then it becomes the best choice for metal protection in the industry nowadays.
